Ingredients

- 1 ½ pounds lean ground beef
- 1 small yellow onion, chopped
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 jar nacho cheese or Queso cheese dip
- 6 extra large flour tortillas
- 6 tostada shells
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 cups shredded lettuce
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1 cup shredded Mexican cheese blend
- cooking spray
Instructions
In a large skillet, over medium-high heat, cook and crumble ground beef and onion until beef is no longer pink. Drain grease. Stir in the taco seasoning mix, water, and minced garlic. Continue to cook until it starts to boil. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 5 minutes.

Warm the nacho cheese sauce or Queso cheese in a microwave-safe bowl. Place the flour tortillas on a large plate. Microwave for 20 seconds to warm them.
Lay one flour tortilla on a flat surface. Spread a heaping 1/2 cup of taco meat onto the center of the tortilla. Drizzle a couple of Tablespoons of nacho cheese over the meat. Top meat with one tostada shell. Spread a thin layer of sour cream over the tostada shell. Top with lettuce, tomato, and shredded Mexican cheese.

To fold the crunch wrap, start with the bottom of the flour tortilla and fold the edge up over the center. Continue to work your way around, folding the flour tortilla over the center fillings.
Repeat with all remaining tortillas, beef, tostadas, and fillings. You’ll have 6 crunch wraps total.
Spray a large, non-stick skillet with cooking spray. Heat over medium to medium-low heat. Place one crunch wrap seam-side down onto the skillet. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes, or until golden-brown. Carefully, flip over and cook the other side until golden-brown. Repeat the process with all crunch wraps. Serve immediately.

Servings
Yields: 6 Crunchwrap Supremes.
Storage and Reheating
Let the copycat crunchwrap supremes cool completely, then wrap them individually or place them in an airtight container. Keep them in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. To reheat, warm in a skillet over medium heat for a few minutes on each side until golden and heated through, or microwave for 1–2 minutes. To achieve that iconic crunch, pop them in a 350°F oven for 5 to 10 minutes to make them extra crispy.

Holly’s Tips for The Best Taco Bell Copycat Crunchwrap Supreme:
- Warm Your Tortillas: Microwaving flour tortillas for 20 seconds makes them more pliable, so folding is easier and less likely to tear.
- Even Layers: Spread ingredients evenly in the center to make folding the tortilla easier and prevent fillings from spilling out.
- Customize Your Crunchwrap Fillings: Swap ingredients or adjust quantities. Add black beans, sautéed peppers, or avocado to make it your own. Dip it in my Homemade Salsa for an extra burst of flavor!

Frequently Asked Questions:
Yes! You can assemble the Crunchwraps and keep them wrapped in the fridge for a few hours before cooking.
If you don’t have tostadas, bake corn tortillas at 425°F for 8 minutes or until golden and crispy. You can also use another flour tortilla for a softer version.
Cook the Crunchwrap seam-side down first in a lightly sprayed skillet until golden, then carefully flip to cook the other side. Using baked or pre-crisped tortillas ensures a crunchy texture.
To make a Crunchwrap Supreme (Copycat) gluten-free, use gluten-free flour tortillas instead of regular ones and swap the tostada shells or corn tortillas for certified gluten-free versions. Make sure all other ingredients are labeled gluten-free. Everything else in the recipe can stay the same.

Love that you did this and can’t wait to make my own!!
You’ll love them! 🙂
These look fabulous; I can’t wait to try them!
I have also had these on my pinterest board for months lol. Now I am inspired to make them. I love taco bell also, but never tried the crunchwrap. I have done at at home copycat of there cheesy fiesta potatoes. It is to die for.
I am all about crunch and absolutely love these too! Thanks a million for sharing this recipe so I can make them now too…and soon.
I have the same confession. We make these all the time. My son loves them.
It might make it easier if you use a Foreman grill to brown them up. I’m thinking it would be more like how they do it at Taco Bell and no flipping.
Excellent idea. I’ve been making Crunchwraps at home for a good while now and never thought to use my Foreman grill. Thanks!
AMAZING idea!! thank you, I’ll be using that trick tonight!
Instead of cutting a large tortillia to cover the hole why not use a 6″ tortillia. I think it would stay together better that way.
I work at tacobell. We use 12inch tortilla. Then no need to cut another or use a 6 inch. It all folds up perfectly
If you have a propane stove, instead of microwaving your tortilla’s, just place one on the grating above the flame, and let it heat that way, it get’s it crunchy and heats it easily.
Made these tonight! So delicious!!! I found some large tortillas that fit it perfectly. One of the easiest meals I made so far on your site. My son devoured it….thanks for posting these amazing meals.
If you enjoy their lunch/dinner crunchwrap, you should try their breakfast steak crunchwrap. My husband bought one, and I believe it comes with a hashbrown built into it (replaces the tostada part). YUMMY! 🙂 These look delicious…and yes I love me some taco bell. Not sure where you live Holly, but if you have a Qdoba — you should try there too! It’s my favorite fast mexican food! Get the naked chicken queso burrito with black beans, white rice, pico de gallo, corn salsa and salsa roja…with a plate of chips — and you will be in heaven. 🙂
ahhh, I miss Qdoba soooo much!! I grew up in Tulsa, ok and was blessed with Qdoba and taco Bueno in addition to taco bell, Chipotle, etc. i moved east as an adult (Charleston & greenville, sc and now Asheville, nc) and forgot about Qdoba completely. they blow Chipotle out of the water, their food is incredible! thank you for reminding me of some good memories with old friends- it was one of our favorites and we shared some great laughs there 🙂
This is the one thing I order from Taco Bell. . . .and it’s usually every Friday for lunch!! Now, I can have it more often out of my own kitchen. Thanks for the creativity!!
Incredible! Thanks so much for putting this together. Itwas simple but everybody loved them!
Just made these! They were really great! Thanks for the recipe.
My boys are Taco Bell fanatics! I am definitely going to have to make these! Thanks for the great recipes!
Made these the other day. Boy, were they good. I popped them into my Cuisinart panini maker with the flat grill for a few minutes. Great leftover for lunch the next day. Thank you!
I have made these twice now. My husband hates Taco Bell, but he loved these. Definitely a keeper.
Thank you for an excellent recipe. I found your recipe on Pinterest. Anyone planning to make this recipe I made my own taco seasoning. I fried up sweet onion and garlic in a pan the placed one pound of top serloin in the pan and sprinkled a teaspoon of the seasoning I made. I purchased the brand of flour tortilla- Guerreo burrito grande. I used the Queso made with real cheese (medium). My son and I can’t tolerate a lot of spice so I only drizzled the cheese sauce. If you want more spice read the label as I came home with medium which I did not notice when I purchased the jar. It is good and you could always add some hot peppers. This recipe is only basic what’s great is you can add whatever else you like ie; bell pepper, hot peppers, etc. Reminder these are filling so you can serve with a salad as eating one is enough.
Crunch wrap Delush! We used the Taco Bell seasoning and Old ElPaso Tostada Shells wrapped in an Old ElPaso 12 inch super soft shell. WOW!
Family Favorite!
Thank You!
Hey, I live in Canada, does anyone know where to get those flat tostada shells? Do you have any ideas if I cant find them? Thanks for your help! 🙂
Hi Sam. You can just use small corn torillas and bake in the oven for 10 minutes until they’re crisp!
Sam, I know my reply is way-late, but I just tried this recipe and had to use crunchy taco shells in place of the tostadas since I can’t get them here in Germany, either. I just break the crunchy shells in half and place them on top. Works like a charm.
hi! we found them at metro in the Mexican section with the taco kits and everything. they were in a tall bag.
Made these for “meatless Monday” using veggie refrieds in place of the taco meat and they were Delish! Thanks for sharing:-)
These were absolutely outstanding. Thank you so much for the recipe!
Yum!! We made this tonight with the following changes:
– substituted plain yogurt for sour cream
– used 2 flour tortillas (I could not successfully wrap the Tortilla, as pictured)
– only used shredded fiesta cheese
– served with avocado
Instead of cutting another flour tortilla, buy the large burrito ones and the smaller taco ones. Lay the smaller taco ones on top as a ‘cover’ for that whole before you wrap it.
AWE C’MON!! You KNOW you want a bigger Crunch Wrap!!
whole??? *facepalms* HOLE!
Actually, if you fold it correctly there should be no opening where you would need to put on a second tort.
Yay, these are my favorite too. I cannot wait to make these at home! Thanks for sharing!
I have made this twice in 3 weeks (5 times if you include leftovers), and it is really yummy! The first time, I found working with the tortillas to be quite tricky, but I finally found XXL tortillas and they work perfectly. I live in Germany and couldn’t find tostadas, so I used hard taco shells instead. They work fine when you break them in half and lay them on the ingredients. The only thing I do differently is to add the tostada absolutely last. The first time I made these, I put everything in the exact order the recipe says to do it in, and the crunchy shell was totally soggy by the time it was grilled and ready to eat. I make sure to add the lettuce last (the least wet ingredient) and put the tostada on top of that. Then it’s really perfect. Thanks for yet-another winner. My husband devoures these!
I worked at Taco Bell for years the way you make a contract the only thing you’re missing is refried beans first you put the refi beans on the Tortilla and then you put the Shell the tostada shell on top of it then you put everything else that’s what holds the tostada shell in place so won’t be moving all around when you sit and make it like a baby diaper
How is this an actual copycat? This is assembled like taco bell but with generic ingredients as the recipe this would taste nothing like Taco Bell
You just explained yourself why it’s called a copycat and not the original. Thanks! 🙂
ROFL!!!! OOOOH I love when people hold their own against trolls! Just saw this on your Meal Plan Monday menu and can’t wait to try them! Ya know the one copycat recipe I want? Meximelt!?!?! Our Taco Bell doesn’t make those anymore and they are the only thing I ever liked. WAAAAHHHH!!!
These crunchwrap supremes are amazing they were so easy to make and devoured quickly. I m making them again tonight! THANK YOU ,:)

My son and I made this tonight!! It is awesome! We all had 2!! Had to make a double batch for the 4 of us!
So good! I plan to make these whenever I have leftover taco meat.
You can buy them at almost any super market. Superstore, Fresh co or safeway. They are in the mexican isle. I just bought from fresh co yesterday.
These are delicious! I’ve also made them with shredded chicken instead of ground beef, just as good!
Yum, I need to try these with chicken!
OMG!!! My husband loves crunch wraps but wàsn’t able to get to Taco Bell very often. I found your recipe and made tonigt. What a smile on his face!! They were just like the original. Will be making this alot. Thanks!!
Wow! These have no right to be so delicious. even the picky kindergartener was a fan. We’ll definitely be making these again.
We made these last night and they were delish! Followed the recipe exactly, except we put the crunchwarp in the george forman grill instead of the skillet and it cooked evenly on both sides, no flipping required. Love all the healthy versions to try next time! : )
This was ABSOLUTELY amazing! My husband and son said this needs to be in our rotatiOn.
