Menu Plan Monday #202

Menu Plan Monday is here to help you take the guesswork out of dinner. Each week, I share easy, family-friendly recipes to make mealtime a breeze.

Well hello, strangers! Or I guess you may be saying that about me haha! Either way, welcome back to Menu Plan Monday. I have missed you guys and blogging, but I really needed a big break so I decided to extend my time off here on the blog.

I told you all how Kale and I went to San Francisco last week and we had the most incredible time! We explored the city (and walked all over it), took a cruise around the bay to both bridges, went to Sausalito and ate like pigs! 😉 It was such an amazing vacation. It totally helped Kale and I re-group from all the stress we’ve had going on this past year. We vowed to make these getaways with just each other more of a habit. It was so nice to be alone with him in such a fun city for 5 days!

When we flew home Tuesday I decided to take the rest of the week off from the blog. I really needed the time off. I think a huge misconception with bloggers is that our job is super easy. We get to work from home and just sit on a computer. I’ve heard it time and time again. Even from my own family and friends. And it hurts, to be honest, and couldn’t be further from the truth.

Blogging can be a 24-7 job and that is what it’s become for me and for many other bloggers out there. I am constantly working. Even on the weekends, and in bed late at night, and on vacation. It’s a never-ending job of cooking, photographing, editing, writing, checking emails, answering comments, advertising yourself on social media, always looking for new recipe ideas, traveling, etc.

PLEASE don’t get me wrong. I love love love my job and am so grateful for it, but because it is not your typical 9 to 5 it can wear a girl out fast. I’m glad I took those extra few days to enjoy the last couple weeks of summer with my kiddos. It was good for my soul. 😀

Okay, lets get to the weekly menu plan. I hope you all have a fantastic week and I’ll see you back on Tuesday (yes, Tuesday!) with a brand new recipe. xoxo -Holly
