Yields: 30 white chocolate cranberry orange cookies.

Storage and Reheating

Store leftover cranberry orange cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for 4-5 days, placing parchment paper between layers to protect the white chocolate drizzle. For a firmer texture, refrigerate for up to a week and let it come to room temperature before serving. These cookies can also be frozen for up to 2 months. Freeze in a single layer first, then transfer to a container. To reheat, microwave for 5-10 seconds for a softer cookie, or warm in a 300°F oven for 3-4 minutes for slightly crispier edges.

Holly’s Tips for The Best White Chocolate Cranberry Orange Cookies:

  • Use Freshly Grated Orange Zest: For the most vibrant flavor, use freshly grated orange zest to complement the tart cranberries and sweet white chocolate.
  • Don’t Overmix: Mix the cookie dough until just combined to keep the cookies tender.
  • Measure The Flour: Too much flour can make cookies dry; spoon and level your flour to avoid this.
  • Bake Cookies Until Golden: These cookies bake quickly; 10 minutes of baking time is typically enough. Overbaking will make them dry and less soft.
  • Allow Cookies To Cool Before Drizzling: Let cookies cool completely before adding the white chocolate drizzle so it sets beautifully.
  • Use Parchment Paper or Silicone Mats: Prevents sticking and makes cleanup easy while keeping the cookie bottoms soft.
  • Make It Your Own: Add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg for a festive holiday twist, or use colored cranberries for a holiday-themed batch. You can even enjoy these cookies without the optional white chocolate drizzle!

Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I make White Chocolate Cranberry Orange Cookies ahead of time?

Yes! Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 4-5 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Thaw before serving. See storage instructions above for more information.

Can I use frozen cranberries instead of dried craisins?

Dried cranberries are best for this recipe because they maintain the cookie’s soft, chewy texture. Using frozen cranberries may add too much moisture and affect baking.

Can I substitute white chocolate chips with dark or milk chocolate?

Yes! While white chocolate pairs beautifully with cranberries and orange, you can use dark or milk chocolate chips for a different flavor profile.

Why is my white chocolate drizzle sliding off?

Make sure the cookies are completely cooled before drizzling. If needed, add a tiny bit of shortening to the melted white chocolate to help it set properly.

How can I make White Chocolate Cranberry Orange Cookies dairy-free or vegan?

To make White Chocolate Cranberry Orange Cookies dairy-free or vegan, replace the butter with a plant-based butter or coconut oil and swap the eggs for flax eggs (1 tablespoon ground flaxseed + 3 tablespoons water per egg) or another vegan egg replacer. Use a dairy-free or vegan white chocolate for both the chips in the cookies and the drizzle.

How can I make White Chocolate Cranberry Orange Cookies gluten-free?

To make White Chocolate Cranberry Orange Cookies gluten-free, simply substitute the all-purpose flour with a 1:1 gluten-free baking flour blend that contains a binding agent like xanthan gum. This ensures the cookies stay soft, chewy, and maintain their structure while keeping the same sweet, tangy, and citrusy flavor. The rest of the ingredients and steps remain the same, but it’s always a good idea to double-check labels to ensure they don’t contain gluten.

    1. I updated the recipe card. I suggest using only parchment paper. For the cookie scoop, I used a medium size. You want each cookie to be around 1.5 to 2 Tablespoons of dough. 🙂
